“My wife and I found a quaint resort on the island of Santorini, Greece. The entire flight over she raved at how gorgeous it was and how affordable it was to stay there. When the plane landed on the island I was excited to see this five star location she’d been hyping me up for.
When we got into the room, I was shocked to see the dimensions of the space we’d be staying in for a week. A sitting area, located beneath our bed, had about four feet of clearance from floor to ceiling and the bed had maybe a foot or two of space above it. Being over six feet tall I was immediately discouraged and a little irritated by the height of the spaces.
However, with some encouragement from my wife I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful our stay was. The time of year was pleasant and we spent most of it exploring the island or sitting by the pool, and you cannot believe how amazing our complimentary breakfast was, it was the kind of breakfast you’d see a millionaire raving about at a hotel costing thousands of dollars a night.
It was a truly incredible experience and I can’t imagine what we would have missed out on if I had let something so stupid as the room, that we were rarely in, ruin it for me.”
