“It’s a conscious effort because it’s really expensive, it can be. Even when I’m working the hotel industry it’s still pretty expensive with the discounts. So I think that’s the whole part of the travel lifestyle is we make sacrifices some people don’t. Like I’m twenty-one and most people my age are moved out and married and I’m choosing to stay at home because rent’s a lot cheaper, I drive a car that’s pretty down it’s definitely a college student’s car and I can definitely afford to get a new one, but in my mind that’s so many missed opportunities for trips, as long as my car gets me from point A to point B that’ll be the best thing for me because then I can take a flight somewhere else.
To me it’s not like oh I need to make a decision on whether or not I’m going to buy this shirt or not, it’s more of a decision on the big money items to not do them and that’s how I save money the most. And a lot of work, a lot of people think with social media that you’re constantly traveling, but it’s a lot of long periods of work between, putting in extra hours and what not.”
